31 January 2011 - New Parent Governor - Mrs Ifrah Elmi

We are pleased to annouce that Mrs Ifrah Elmi has been elected as our new Parent Governor.  Mrs Elmi has been a parent of the school for over ten years and, as well as being a reading volunteer, has been involved in lots of Friends of Wendell Park activities.  We look forward to welcoming her to our next meeting on 3rd February 2011.

29 November 2010 - Farewell to Mrs Sameem Malek, Parent Governor

Sameem's second term of office as a Parent Governor comes to an end today.  After eight years in the post she has decided not to stand for re-election.  During that time Sameem has made an enormous contribution to the school having spent time as Chair, Health and Safety Governor and worked alongside Mrs Mears reviewing the school's policies and proceedures.

We now have a vacany for Parent Governor for which we will seek nominations in the new year. If you are interested in standing but would like more information about the post please contact Rachel Jerrome via the school office.

18 November 2010 - New Local Authority Governor - Mr Sola Adetuberu

We are pleased to announce that Mr Sola Adetuberu has been appointed as a local authority governor and will join the governing body with immediate effect.  We look forward to welcoming him to our next meeting on 25th November 2010.

12 November 2010 - Opening of Our New Entrance Hall

Members of the governing body attended a party to celebrate the completion of building work and the formal opening of our new entrance hall.  The building work has transformed the school.  The entrance hall is open and welcoming and our new outdoor classrooms will enable both Reception and Nursery children to play freely outside all year round.  The newly equipped Reception playground is a great outdoor learning zone.

22 October 2010

Our newly elected parent governors are James Balkwill (parent of Tom in year 2 and Alex in nursery) and Henry Sainty (parent of Max in year 4).  Congratulations to them both. 

Thank you to the other two candidates for standing for election.

11 October 2010

Four nominations were received for the parent governor posts.  Ballot papers and details of the candidates were sent to all parents and carers this week.  The ballot closes on Monday 18th October 2010 at 10am.

5 October 2010

The governing body currently has two parent governors vacancies. Information was sent to parents and carers of the school last week seeking nominations for these posts.  If there are more than two nominations an election will be held next week.
