Safety and Security
24 March 2017 (by Elena Hough (admin))
The following letter has been sent out to all parents today (Friday 24th March 2017)
Yesterday, our local Safer Neighbourhoods Team officers came to reassure us about local safety and security following on from the events in central London on Wednesday 22nd March.
PC David Williams and PCSO Jenny Affiku are our dedicated officers for the Askew ward. They reassured us that the significant presence of Police Officers around London is intended to ensure that all members of our community feel safe at this time.
PC Williams advised that the threat level in London has been unchanged for two years and that we should all continue to be vigilant and that we should go about our day-to-day lives as we have been previously. Our officers want to make it clear that if anyone has any concerns, if a situation doesn’t feel right to you, to contact them directly.
As you know, the School made the decision to cancel trips on Thursday and Friday this week to ensure the safety and security of our children during a time of uncertainty. Following the advice of PC Williams and PCSO Affiku, I will be contacting the parents of children who are due to go on trips next week and the arrangements for these.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak to Ms Howarth, Ms Peters or myself.
