School Meals

Lunches are cooked on the school premises and both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food is provided. Lunches cost £1.75p per day and money is payable in advance. Many children are entitled to a free school meal and details about this can be acquired from the school secretary. Children may bring a packed lunch if they wish and some parents choose to collect their children and take them home for lunch. We encourage all parents to notify the school in good time where they wish to change the lunch time arrangements for their children. Changes may only take place from the beginning of a half term period.

Freshly Prepared Food

All food is prepared on the day of serving in hygienic surroundings by fully trained staff.

We also exceed the government's nutritional guidelines.

All food is prepared daily using quality suppliers.

The best model for learning about healthy eating is The Balance Of Good Health plate model. It makes healthy eating easier to understand by showing the types and proportions of foods which make up a nutritious and well balanced diet. Using this as a guide can help children learn that to meet our nutritional needs we need to select a variety of foods from all of the five food groups.
