Values Aims & Ethos
As a school we have a set of core values which underpin the work of the school and how we treat each other. These core values were worked out by all staff members of the school.

We believe that our high expectations will lead to personal
achievement and success and that this is a right for all.
We believe that our high self esteem, self confidence and
happiness are central to our work.
We believe in valuing, celebrating diversity and respect for all.
We believe in safety and support for every individual.
We believe that our Core Values are central to success.
We believe that our Core Values are central to life long learning.
Our Core Values underpin the way we work, behave and treat all members of the school community.
Our school is committed to helping every child to achieve their potential.
We want success and good progress for all children. Children are well supported in their learning and achievement is good.
Children's learning is regularly assessed by their teachers and we have very good procedures for keeping track of progress.
Different teaching methods address childrens individual needs and learning styles, for example, visual , auditory and kinaesthetic stratgies, to enable all children to be included in the learning process.
The BASICS Model of Learning
In order to promote children’s engagement with learning we follow a model of learning called the BASICS model. Each letter stands for an important element of our approach to teaching and learning and behaviour management.
The children regularly discuss this model and are encouraged to think about how it affects them.
